School's out and it's time to dive in to summer and make this one a staycation to savour.

We've picked six places to splash out and enjoy some outdoor fun while the sun shines across Kent.

Faversham outdoor paddling pool

Faversham Pools' outdoor paddling pool and rapids have not been open since summer 2019, but have now welcomed back swimmers with safety measures in place. The centre's main indoor and outdoor facilities were already up and running too. Swimmers have a choice of two daily sessions, running 9am to 2pm and 2.30pm to close. Capacity will be capped and children under 10 must be accompanied in the water by an adult. Book your swimming slot at favershampools.com

Walmer padding pool

The community facility currently has free entry this year, though there are proposals for that to change for 2022.

There is an ice cream kiosk, plenty of inflatables and water shooters as well as mini golf on the green.

Strand Pool, Gillingham

One of the Towns' most popular leisure attractions, the open-air pool is open daily until Wednesday, September 1.

The venue – now in its 125th year – boasts a leisure pool, 25-metre swim area, 300-metre lazy river and children’s slides. An online pre-booking system is in place with people able to book a morning or afternoon session from noon on Saturday, May 22. Numbers for each session will be limited. Tonbridge Pool

The heated pool just off Tonbridge High Street has a water arch and beach area plus a cafe.

Booking must be done in advance online and numbers of visitors will be limited. Booking for the outside pool starts from 9.15am each day. Book at tmactive.co.uk

Walpole Bay Tidal Pool, Cliftonville

Built so people can bathe in the sea at all states of the tides, this listed four acre site is owned by English Heritage was designed in 1937. It’s three sides of a rectangle, with walls on three sides and a chalk beach floor.

The Beach, Bluewater

School's out and the popular outdoor family attraction with paddling pools and water balls is back for a fifth consecutive year. It has deck chairs and fairground rides, including a new attraction, Wipe Out, which includes a ride called Meltdown, waltzers and bumper cars and will run until Sunday, September 5, between 11am and 9pm (weather dependent).
