Dancing superstar Oti Mabuse is heading out on her first sensational solo show, stopping at three Kent venues along the way.
The Dancing On Ice judge will give more than 50 performances at venues around the country, including dates at Dartford’s Orchard Theatre, Bromley’s Churchill Theatre and Canterbury’s Marlowe Theatre.
Listen to Oti tell us all about the exciting new show ahead of her Kent dates:
The show, I Am Here, is set to be a “whirlwind” celebration of her inspirations and influences and includes jives, sambas, and traditional South African dances.
Oti became a familiar face on our screens after spending seven years as a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing, before announcing her departure from the show in February this year.
During her time on the Strictly dance floor, she won the competition twice, first with Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher and then the following year with comedian Bill Bailey. She is the only pro to ever win the glitterball trophy twice consecutively.
Eagle-eyed viewers might have already caught a glimpse of I Am Here, as the 31-year-old performed an adapted routine from the show on Dancing On Ice, which she joined as a judge this year, in January.
The performance was choreographed by skating legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, who are also judges on the show alongside Oti.
The South African dancer has also taken a seat on the judges’ panel for the Masked Dancer and the Greatest Dancer, which ran for two seasons and saw contestants mentored by Oti win the competition both years.
More recently, Oti has dipped her toe into the world of hosting as she presented the first season of dating game show Romeo and Duet in April this year.
I Am Here is the first time Oti is stepping out on the stage as a solo performer, although she won’t be entirely on her own.
Throughout the tour, Oti will be joined each night by a talented cast of back-up dancers, dance partners, choreographers and musicians and singers from London’s West End.
The fiery show will feature some of your favourite Latin dances as well as Kwaito, which is traditional upbeat dance music from South Africa.
Bringing her trademark confidence and red-hot energy, Oti is setting out to get hearts racing with this exhilarating live performance.
