The Brook Theatre, Chatham

Treat your children to a magical theatre experience with the classic story, the Wizard of Oz. This childhood favourite is being performed by Chatham’s Three Towns Theatre Company and sees Dorothy click her ruby slippers and follow the yellow brick road with the lovable Lion, Scarecrow, Tin Man and, of course, Toto the dog.

Howl-o-Ween, Faversham

Dog owners and pet lovers won’t want to miss this one. The Howl-o-Ween dog parade will see adorable pups dressed up in their best Halloween costumes and strutting their stuff through Faversham town centre in the hopes of winning a prize for Scariest Dog. Families are also encouraged to dress up as they walk their dog and could see themselves awarded Scariest Dressed Family.

Lullingstone Country Park, Swanley

Explore the beautiful woodlands and figure out creepy clues on this self-led nature trail. The trail, which can be purchased from the park’s Visitor Centre Reception, takes you on an hour-long journey through the woods, dotted with Halloween-themed questions for you to answer and, at the end, receive a prize for completing the adventure.

Macknade, Faversham

Children can get their teeth into a fun, practical activity this half term, and will hopefully learn a few helpful kitchen skills at the same time. Macknade’s pizza making workshops take place at its Faversham location and see kids prepare their very own mini pizza. For a special seasonal touch, there will be personalised spooky ingredients available to use, such as mushroom zombies and black olive spiders. There will also be a fancy dress competition, activity sheet and in-store treasure hunt.

Maidstone Museum

Join in with three creepy, crafty Halloween sessions at the Maidstone Museum. The sessions, suitable for children aged 4 to 11, include three unique workshops. Learn how to make your very own witch or wizard hat, create an autumnal pumpkin wreath or get ready for Halloween with a handmade scary mask - or book a place at all three sessions! The activities take between 30 to 50 minutes to complete, and parents are asked to stay with their children for the duration of the session.

North Kent College, Tonbridge

After more than two years of waiting, the Be You Festival is finally taking place this half term. The inclusive festival is run by dance company This Is Us and aims to create opportunities for creative expression for all. The family festival will include live theatre, music and poetry workshops, as well as LEGO, arts and crafts, a silent disco and a sensory room.

The Orchard Theatre, Dartford

Based on the childrens’ stories by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, the Tales from Acorn Wood will be brought to life on the Dartford stage during school holidays. The show, created by the same team behind Dear Zoo and Dear Santa, features music, puppets and an enchanting family-friendly tale that children of all ages will enjoy.

Romney Marsh Wildlife Reserve

Grab your coat, dig out your wellies and get in touch with nature at this picturesque countryside spot. Head down to the Romney Marsh Wildlife Reserve where you can follow the outdoor trail, uncovering clues and solving puzzles as you go. Complete the trail to be rewarded with a Kent Wildlife Trust prize bundle, and make sure you keep an eye out for the local wildlife you can find on the reserve during the day.

The Trinity Theatre, Tunbridge Wells

If you’ve got a budding ballet dancer in your family, you can inspire them with a magical dance performance. Let’s All Dance Ballet Company are bringing their production of Alice in Wonderland to Tunbridge Wells, full of your favourite characters including Alice, the White Rabbit, the Mad Hatter and the Queen of Hearts. With a beautiful score and stunning choreography, this is a show that will enthral the whole family.

The Woodville, Gravesend

If you want action, this high-octane wrestling show has it all. All Star Super Slam Wrestling returns to Gravesend with New Zealand star Niwa, who is battling to defend their All Star British Heavyweight and Superslam belts against a number of fierce competitors. The championship showdown will bring stunts, cheers and plenty of punches to the ring.
