Comedian Dom Joly is sharing his holiday snaps with audiences in his one-man show.
The creator of Trigger Happy TV is heading back on tour for the first time since 2011 and will be stopping off at Revelation in Ashford on Saturday, April 9.
With more than 50 dates across the country, the new show will see Dom talk about his overseas exploits, serial globe-trotting and some of the most dangerous travel spots he’s ever encountered.
“I’ve got this collection of weird holiday snaps,” says the television star.
“And I know there’s that cliché that ‘nobody wants to see anybody else’s holiday snaps’. Well, my holiday snaps are really good. And I’ve got some really good stories with them.”
The photos will be shown on a screen throughout the show, so audiences can really get a snapshot of the comedian’s holiday escapades.
From North Korea to Chernobyl, Dom has stories from some of the most unusual and fascinating places on the planet - including the Australian bush in I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here in 2010.
“The theme is travel,” explains the 54-year-old broadcaster.
“The three things I’ll be showing will be my own holiday snaps, holiday snaps from TV shows and holiday snaps from my books.”
The best-selling author will also be meeting and greeting fans after the show to sign copies of his books, including Such Miserable Weather.
Dom’s latest book, Such Miserable Weather, asks why people return to visit England year after year and gives readers a view of the country through the lens of a Beirut-born comedian.
The Holiday Snaps tour began in 2020, but had to pause the run of dates due to the pandemic.
“We were mid-way through the tour when Covid brought everything to a standstill, so I’m delighted that I’m finally able to get back on the road.”
Dom Joly is at Revelation, Ashford, on Saturday, April 9. Book online here.
