Mote Park Photographic Competition captures nature in Maidstone all year round
06:00, 30 December 2019
The ever-changing seasons and the wildlife who adapt to it have been captured by eagle-eyed park users.
The annual Mote Park Photographic Competition sees dozens of snaps by those who love the 450 acre park voted for on the Maidstone park's Facebook page each month through the year, with the finalists' shots going before a judging panel.
The panel, which included council leader Cllr Martin Cox (Lib Dem) this year, chose the final three best images of the year.
In the Seasons category, Bethan Anderson's picture of a sun-soaked autumnal day in the park came out on top, while Lauren Smith's image of the historic pavilion nestling in the long grass won the Landscape category.
The winner of the Wildlife Category, Rob Newbury, captured a summertime shot of bees buzzing around summer flowers to claim his prize.
Pries for the competition have been donated by the Mall Maidstone.
The contest starts again in January. Find out more at the Facebook page at facebook.com/pg/motepark
