Our farmers' markets have been doing an essential job in difficult times, providing us with fresh local produce.

Though there have been changes to how the markets provide that service - some going online with local pick-ups - they are carrying on in the face of another lockdown.

We take a look at some in the county you can pop to if you're near this week:

Shipbourne

The market, which this week is held on Thursday, November 12, is an online farmers' market with a drive-thru customer pick-up and one-way system around the village.

The 'virtual market ' is open for browsing and shopping from Saturday morning to Wednesday at noon.

Reuthe’s The Lost Gardens of Sevenoaks

This new, regular monthly farmers' and craft market will be on Friday, November 13 this week. Set in the historic gardens which date back to 1902, it is held on the first Friday of every month, with more than 20 stalls featuring local produce from fresh fish to speciality meats, fruit and veg and cheese.

Egerton

Egerton Farmers' Market has now been trading every Friday from 2pm to 4.30pm for more than 10 years.

Gravesend Borough Market

The Come, Buy, Leave Saturday Market is strictly for food only and, as its name suggests, encourages shoppers not to hang around, but be efficient with their shopping and keep safe. It will run from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, November 14.

Sevenoaks

The market held in the Blighs Meadows pedestrian shopping centre is well established with a variety of arts and craft stalls and runs every Saturday, including this Saturday, November 14. With the help of local producers, the town council is currently developing the venue into a farmers' market with locally sourced and produced wines, cakes and fudges.
