00:00, 09 December 2015
Photos showing a park through the eyes of park lovers are on show through December.
Images of Maidstone’s Mote Park with its poppies, which not many users would expect, and it in all its autumnal glory won the 2015 Mote Park photographic competition.
All the finalists’ images went on show today at the newly-renovated cafe in the park, next to the play area.
First prize in the photographic contest, winning £250 of vouchers to spend at the Mall Maidstone was Stewart Nicolaou with his autumnal scene of the entrance.
In second place winning a £50 Mall Voucher was Denise Tate with her atmospheric river picture
and third, winning a £20 Mall voucher was Clare Green, with her view of poppies.
The park is a winner itself - coming third in the People’s Choice Green Flag contest in September, which goes on users’ votes.
Next year’s contest will run from March to August.
