A food festival headlined by a chart-topping indie band is coming to Kent.
Smoked and Uncut Festival, which takes place in the grounds of a luxury hotel, will feature meals cooked by top chefs and a headline set from Razorlight.
The Pig at Bridge Place, just outside of Canterbury, is the regular home of the festival’s Kent date, with Supergrass performing there last year.
This year, the festival returns with a full day of live music from the likes of Dire Straits bassist John Illsley, Seattle-born singer Kimberly Nichole, award-winning blues musician Toby Lee, MOBO winner Jai Amore, singer-songwriter Martha Eve and guitarist Will James.
Topping the bill this year is noughties rock band Razorlight.
The group, formed by frontman Johnny Borrell, rose to fame with hits such as In the Morning, Somewhere Else, Golden Touch and America, which reached No. 1 in the UK Singles Chart in 2006.
Alongside the music line-up, the festival is also a haven for foodies with many renowned food outlets serving up their signature dishes during the day.
There will be a number of Kent-based producers, such as Rad Burger, Hide and Greek and Barney and the Pizza, as well as vendors from further afield including Chirpy Chicken, the Hampshire Sausage Co, Woosabi, Miz Street Food and Queen of the Crepes.
Festival-goers can also enjoy drinks from Fever Tree, Shepherd Neame, Sapling, Pentire and more.
If that’s not enough to feed your appetite, the festival also offers unique food experiences at an additional price.
Michelin-starred chef and Gordon Ramsay protégée Angela Hartnett will be joined by Lisa Goodwin-Allen to cook up a fine dining dinner inside the hotel.
Diners will be treated to a welcome drink and nibbles before sitting down to a three-course meal and half a bottle of wine each.
The Feasting with Angela and Friends experience costs £125 in addition to your festival ticket.
There’s also the Apprentice Tent where group chef director James Golding will be guiding his apprentices through a three-course menu of Pig classics which diners can then enjoy.
This meal isn’t quite as pricey as the one rustled up by Angela Hartnett, but it does cost £60 per person - again, on top of your festival ticket.
Smoked and Uncut Festival takes place on Saturday, August 12. You can book festival tickets online here.
You can also book tickets to the individual food experiences on the Smoked and Uncut website.
