Tuck into a curry while spotting spectacled bears as a unique restaurant reopens for the winter.
Bear Lodge, located within the grounds of Port Lympne Hotel and Reserve in Hythe, welcomes diners back on the weekends to enjoy tasty food and views of the animals.
The restaurant offers something different each night, kicking off with curry night on Fridays. The authentic menu of British-Indian dishes includes onion bhajis, butter masala, rogan josh and sag aloo.
On Saturday, there’s casual family dining where both children and adults can sample classic crowd-pleasers in a relaxed atmosphere.
Sundays will see traditional roast dinners on the menu, with hand-picked main courses including sirloin beef, roast chicken, Cumberland sausage ring, pumpkin nut roast and fish pie.
There’s also a selection of elegant starters, such as spiced parsnip soup and king prawn cocktail, and hearty desserts like sticky toffee pudding and chocolate brownie.
The restaurant overlooks the spectacled bear enclosure where its inhabitants Mateo, who arrived at Port Lympne last year, and Rina can be found.
There are also panoramic views of the reserve, which is home to more than 900 animals, and a play area for the kids.
Bear Lodge Restaurant is open on weekends from Friday, November 8. You can reserve your table here.
You do not need a ticket to the wildlife park in order to dine at the restaurant.
