Thin Lizzy will play their only date in the UK at this summer's Ramblin' Man Fair in Maidstone.

The one-off date will be on the first day, Saturday, July 23, when they will join Whitesnake headlining with Hawkwind, Uriah Heap and Procol Harum. Headliners on Sunday, July 24 will be Black Stone Cherry.

It will be the only chance to see the band in the UK as they play a select few dates to mark the 40th anniversary of their seminal Jailbreak album and the 30th anniversary of the passing of Phil Lynott.

The band's classic tracks include The Boys Are Back in Town, Jailbreak and Don't Believe a Word, released between 1969 and 1983.

The Thin Lizzy line-up is vocalist Ricky Warwick, guitarists Scott Gorham and Damon Johnson, and Darren Wharton on keyboards, with special guest, Motorhead drummer Mikkey Dee.

Scott said: "I thought it would be really cool to do some Thin Lizzy shows as it’s an anniversary year, to have some fun and to re-live the good old days. We will only do half a dozen or so dates to keep them special.

Mikkey Dee added: "It’s an honour to be asked to play with Thin Lizzy on these dates, being a life long fan."

The festival will be held in Mote Park again after the first event last year attracted thousands, and will be under the ownership of new music event company Spirit of Rock, is a division of RFS Entertainment.

Let’s have Classic Rock, Southern Rock, Prog, Blues and Country music stages alongside great outdoor BBQ food, fine bourbon whiskies and barrels of real ale in the heart of Maidstone’s beautiful Mote Park."
