A theatre company is staging Shakespeare in a unique atmospheric way in the run-up to Halloween.
Members of Get Out Of My Space theatre production company - GOOMS for short - are performing Macbeth by torchlight in a woodland in Kent from now until Sunday, October 31.
The immersive outdoor performance is being staged on the edge of the woods at Kingdom on the Penshurst estate, with audience members handed a torch on arrival, which will be the only source of light.
The audience will be transported to the battlefield, exposed to the thunder, lightening and rain, on the edge of woodland where they will sit amongst the action.
Macbeth, a decorated and powerful army general coming home from war, is met on the path by three witches. Prophesying his growing success, and eventual taking of the crown, he casts them aside as mad - but once what they told him starts to become true, he dares to dream…
The show comes after the company, led by director and 24-year-old entrepreneur Tobias Cornwell, staged A Cratchits' Christmas Carol at Christmas last year in Tunbridge Wells, but was affected by tier restrictions.
The show lasts an hour and a half and takes place every night except Monday, October 25 until Sunday, October 31.
Tickets cost from £20. To book click here.
