A special event documenting 200 years of dance in Margate is taking place at the Lido Cliff Bar.
Dance troupe Round in Circles are hosting The Xanadu Legacy after their most recent show saw the team conduct interviews, dance workshops and archival research in order to inform their production.
Tales from Frank's nightclub and the celebrated Bali Hai were recreated in the show as well as a 200-year-old regency dance called 'A Trip to Margate.' The show named In Search of Xanadu was performed at the former Store Twenty One on the High Street.
The heritage afternoon examines the research work in greater detail through expert talks, live performances and social dancing.
It will also include a live performance of a mambo-inspired dance routine, I Mambo Margate.
Th event will also launch the Xana Zine, a publication documenting the production's heritage research.
Dance enthusiasts and those needing a dose of heady nostalgia are encouraged to come along to the free event which takes place on Saturday, November 10 between 2.30pm and 5.30pm.
