10:10, 10 June 2015
It doesn’t have to be winter for you to get your skates on.
Take the kids to Silver Blades Ice Rink in Gillingham for a spin on the ice and day during the public skate hours (listed below).
Whether you’re a pro or an absolute beginner, Silver Blades is big enough for over 1000 people so you can hold onto the rails or each other without getting in anybody’s way or spin and slide around to your heart’s content.
You can bring your own skates or hire a pair at the venue and lockers are available on-site to keep your things safe.
You can stop for something to eat at Café Blu with meal deals including a choice of burgers, jacket potatoes or pasta and a drink for just £3.
If parents don’t want to get on the ice, there are plenty of seats to watch from as the venue is used by Gillingham Ice Dance & Figure Skating Club, the Invicta Dynamos Ice Hockey Club and the Invicta Knights.
There are six-week courses that constantly turnaround for people to learn how to skate from scratch, improve or refresh.
