Want to walk into one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World?
Wide-eyed youngsters will be able to head into the Great Pyramid of Giza this summer without even leaving Kent.
The glimpse into the world of the Pharaohs is on offer all summer long at the Royal Victoria Place in Tunbridge Wells, with a new interactive experience, Kids In Pyramids.
The Royal Victoria Place is the first shopping centre in England to host the free experience, and the first venue in Kent and Sussex to bring it to young visitors.
Open every day through the summer holidays from Saturday, July 28, it is aimed at children between five and 12 years old.
It's a unique chance to go on an adventure where they will learn about life in ancient Egypt, be surrounded by iconic architectural elements and get involved in exciting games.
Children can dress up and head into the pyramids, dig in the sand searching for artefacts, find the key to the treasure room and learn about hieroglyphics.
They can also build their own small pyramids, climb on a Sphinx, decipher the hidden codes - and have lots of fun with mummies.
Want a sarcophagus selfie or your name written in hieroglyphs? Young visitors can do all that, as well as create Egyptian jewellery and learn about the famous Pharaohs and get creative colouring in at the Learn and Colour Zone, opposite Playworld on level 1.
TOURS
The Egyptian Adventure Tour starts at the Great Pyramid of Giza located on level 1 opposite M&S. Each tour takes 30 minutes and each child gets a free personalised certificate to take home.
A maximum of 25 children can take part in each tour. Tour times on Mondays to Saturdays are every half hour from 11am to 4.30pm and on Sundays from 11am to 3.30pm.
ANCIENT FACTS
Heiroglyphics, which means "holy writings", use pictures to write words. Ancient Egyptians believed there was great power in a name - if someone’s name was remembered then they would survive in the afterlife - which is why Pharaohs’ names were written in hieroglyphics inside their tombs.
The Great Pyramid of Giza is the oldest and largest of the three pyramids in the Giza pyramid complex and is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and the only one to remain largely intact.
