An arts festival held across Romney Marsh each summer will be virtual this year.
JAM on the Marsh, which runs from Thursday, August 6 to Saturday, August 15, will see live performances videoed for people to watch online and three online photographic exhibitions.
Performers have visited the medieval churches on the Marsh to present the concerts, adhering to social distancing and safety measures, which have then been recorded as live, behind closed doors.
Sarah Armitage from the festival, said: “We are really excited about how much more accessible our festival is by being virtual - anyone across Kent regardless of geography, income, disability can enjoy JAM on the Marsh: Virtual, free of charge.
"Also, anyone in the UK and worldwide can be introduced to the Marsh and our festival.”
Exhibitions include Marsh-based photographer Carsten Birkebaek’s drone photography exhibition of Jon Foreman’s 2019 Beach Art, and also locally based photographer Susan Pilcher’s Confessions of a Night Owl photography exhibition.
Festival highlights include the world premiere of Paul Mealor’s Piano Concerto by the London Mozart Players and John Frederick Hudson (piano); The Gesualdo Six performing the Fauré Requiem, with new poetry by Grahame Davies and British jazz from Onyx Brass.
Exhibitions include award-winning, Getty photographer, Tristan Fewings, and drone photography by Carsten Birkebaek of Jon Foreman’s Beach Art.
Events are each night at 7.30pm, go to jamconcert.org and click on the concert to view.
