Kicking things off on Thursday, June 23 is legendary Californian chart-toppers, the Beach Boys.

The Sixty Years of the Sounds of Summer show will see co-founder, lyricist and vocalist Mike Love sing six decades’ worth of hits at the seaside venue.

He will be joined on stage by Bruce Johnston, who has been part of the group since 1965.

Having sold over 100 million records worldwide since their beginnings in 1961, the Beach Boys have become synonymous with American sound.

Their impressive discography includes singles such as Surfin’ USA, I Get Around, Barbara Ann, Good Vibrations, Wouldn’t It Be Nice and Kokomo.

The band’s work has seen them enter the prestigious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and receive a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Their compilation album, Sounds of Summer: The Very Best of the Beach Boys, has achieved triple platinum status.

Following on from the Beach Boys is new music all-dayer Leisure Festival, which takes place on Friday, June 24.

Leisure Festival will celebrate the best up-and-coming artists from across the world, including Japanese-American singer-songwriter Mitski, who recently supported Harry Styles on his sell-out tour.

Also appearing on the line-up is Soccer Mommy, Nilüfer Yanya, Sorry, L’Rain and HighSchool, CMAT, Léa Sen and Social Singing Choir.

The festival will be split across the Scenic Stage, Dreamland’s main outdoor stage set against the backdrop of the beloved Scenic Railway, and the indoor stage, Hall by the Sea.

Rounding off the weekend is the final event, Worried About Henry, on Saturday, June 25.

Having made a name for itself with last year’s seafront sensational On the Beach in Brighton and On the Pier and Hastings, organisers Worried About Henry are bringing their massive live music event to Margate.

The all-day drum and bass festival will feature a headline DJ set from genre-defying artist Wilkinson. The producer, alongside hype-machine MC Ad-Apt and British DJ Shy FX, will spin some of the best drum and bass, jungle and dubstep anthems.
