Mods Mayday, a huge one-day concert celebrating the best of the ‘60s mod era, is bringing a packed programme of bands and artists to Dreamland.

The concert will see some of the biggest and most influential names from mod music relive decades past at the Margate venue.

One of the familiar faces that will be appearing at the concert is none other than Kenney Jones.

The British drummer was a founding member of the Small Faces, one of the most influential bands in the mod scene, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.

His later work with Faces, a supergroup which formed off the back of the Small Faces in 1969, and The Who, which he joined after the passing of their original drummer Keith Moon, has seen Kenney at heart of some of the UK’s biggest bands.

Joining the legendary musician will be Secret Affair, who began life as New Hearts but decided to change their name, and their sound, in 1978. They moved away from the new wave genre and instead became a mod revival band.

With three albums and five singles under their belts in just over two years, Secret Affair soon found themselves at the forefront of the ‘70s revival movement.

The Purple Hearts will also be performing this Saturday. The band, who split in 1982, found themselves thrust into the mod revival, alongside the likes of Secret Affair and The Jam, and had three singles make their way into the UK charts.

The chock-full line-up also includes music from The Truth, The Chords and Squire.

Not only will there be plenty of live bands to keep you entertained, but there will also be a handful of DJs blasting the best mod anthems throughout the evening.
