There will be more than 60 Kent-based ales and a host of live music acts at a three-day beer festival this week.

The Faversham Beer Festival, which will be held at Faversham Football Club, will be headlined by Ian Dury's band The Blockheads and the Kast Off Kinks, and have three stages, a food court and camping.

The event, which is backed by the football club, will be raising money for local charities and have a host of real ales and ciders from producers across the county.

Participating brewers include Greene King, Musket Brewery, Kent Brewery, Brew Buddies Brewery, Wantsum Brewery, Gadds: Ramsgate Brewery, Old Dairy Brewery, Goody Ales and Whitstable Brewery.

The Kast Off Kinks, which includes original members of The Kinks, will play the band's hits on Friday, July 26 while The Blockheads will play classic material on Saturday, July 28.

Organiser Richard Parry said: "We wanted to create a new event in the town that would showcase the fantastic range of local beers and ciders the county has to offer and a full programme of live music with something for everyone to enjoy.

"It promises to be a fun-packed weekend and we hope that people will give the event their full support, while helping to raise funds for some brilliant local initiatives too."
