Titanic the Musical is coming to the Orchard Theatre in Dartford on its 10th anniversary tour

The tragic events of the RMS Titanic’s maiden voyage in 1912 have been honoured with countless documentaries, TV shows and, of course, James Cameron’s blockbuster film.
However, the heartbreaking disaster is now being brought to the stage with stunning sets and emotive real-life stories in Titanic the Musical.
The show, which is embarking on its 10th anniversary tour, is coming to Dartford for five nights at the end of June.
The musical is based on the lives and stories of the real people who boarded the Titanic on its voyage from Southampton to New York.
During the highly-anticipated journey, the so-called ‘unsinkable ship’ collided with an iceberg and 1,517 passengers and crew lost their lives.
This epic production, produced by Danielle Tarento, Steven M Levy and Vaughan Williams, explores the stories of a range of passengers, from the Third Class immigrants to First Class millionaires.
“Steven, Vaughan and I are so excited that the great ship Titanic is setting sail on a new UK tour,” says Danielle. “I can’t believe that it’s been 10 years since that first production at Southwark Playhouse - it feels like a lifetime ago and only just the other day in equal measure!
“After the couple of years that we’ve all lived through, to be able to mark this anniversary by revisiting some favourite venues from the last tour and also bringing the show to some new ones feels especially joyful.”
The original Broadway production received an impressive five Tony Awards including Best Musical and Best Score.
The 10th anniversary UK tour celebrates the work that has gone into recreating the spectacular ship onstage, as well as remembering the passengers who lost their lives and honouring the small number who survived.
“This is the true story of the people on the Titanic,” adds Danielle. “Truth is a better story than fiction. Titanic is the star.”
Titanic the Musical will be at the Orchard Theatre in Dartford from Tuesday, June 27 to Saturday, July 1. You can book tickets online here.
