Seven top flight chefs from across Kent are getting together to stage a pop-up night in aid of a children's charity.
Guests at the Ultimate Pop Up at Hush Heath Winery in Staplehurst on Thursday, June 20 will be cooked for by Kent Chef of the Year, The Small Holding’s Will Devlin alongside star of the Great British Menu and head chef at Verdigris in Tonbridge, Scott Goss.
Proprietor and chef at The Compasses Inn, Crundale Rob Taylor will join them along with former Kentish Hare and MasterChef star Bobby Brown, chef-proprietor of the Michelin-listed Wheelwrights Arms in Matfield for six years, Rob Marsh, and Hush Heath’s executive chef, Fabio Vinciguerra.
Jamie Tandoh from the Bicycle Bakery in Tunbridge Wells will be responsible for producing the dessert at the evening, which will raise funds for children’s charity, Tree of Hope.
The one-off event, sponsored by CCLA, will raise funds for the Tonbridge charity, which supports families of disabled and seriously ill children across the UK, raising funds for treatment, therapies and equipment recommended by their healthcare teams.
The charity's annual fundraising campaign Dine and Donate encourages people to host anything from a coffee morning to banquet, which last year raised more than £12,000 last year.
In November they also launched The Cook Book – Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells, a collaboration with more than 20 local eateries and producers, which has so far raised £16,000.
Scott Goss, who launched Verdigris on Tonbridge High Street in December, said: "It is a privilege to work with such a brilliant local charity who are achieving great things."
The Ultimate Pop Up organiser, Kate Bourne, who is the charity's fundraising manager, said: "The opportunity to indulge in a meal prepared by some of the area’s very best chefs using the finest local produce, in stunning surroundings is rare and we’re delighted that such a special night will raise funds for Tree of Hope.
"The Ultimate Pop Up will enable the charity to reach more families that so desperately need our help."
Tammy Jackson, the mixologist behind the blog For Cocktail Sake, is also set to produce a cocktail specially for the evening.
Tickets for the pop up on Thursday, June 20 at Hush Heath cost £85. Book yours at treeofhope.org.uk/fundraising-dinner-ultimate-pop-launched/
