Visitors to Kent Life in Maidstone will be able to meet a TV star on their next visit.

Walter the pedigree Clydesdale, who is now settling in to the quiet life down on the farm, appeared on the Don't Tell the Bride last year.

He was commissioned by a bridegroom to pull a carriage to take a bride to her wedding, which had been a dream of hers.

Ten-year-old Walter, who stands at 17 hands high, was living at the National Brewery Centre in Burton on Trent but has now moved to the Sandling farming attraction.

, from Kent Life, said: "We are so pleased to welcome this lovely natured, gentle giant. Sarah Hirsch

"He’s settling in really well and is proving a massive hit with children and adults alike. He’s incredibly friendly and loves all the attention he gets.”

David Edwards from the Brewery Centre agreed he was always a hit, particularly with children, but added: “Our volunteers Gary, Dom and Maz all looked after him and were very sad to see him go. He even won the heart of our chef who sent him cut-offs of his favourite raw vegetables from the kitchen.”

Clydesdales and shire horses hold numerous records for being some of the largest and tallest breeds. But even Walter would be dwarfed by the largest shire horse ever recorded - Sampson, born in 1846, was a massive 21.2 hands tall (around 7ft).
