The National Trust is set to reopen two more of its gardens in the county, after opening two for pre-booked tickets this week.

The charity which is gradually reopening its venues' gardens and some facilities, with new sites being announced on Fridays, has announced Knole at Sevenoaks and Chartwell at Westerham, near Sevenoaks are the next to welcome back visitors in limited numbers.

They follow Sissinghurst Castle Garden and Scotney Castle in Lamberhurst announced last week, with tickets being snapped up quickly.

In a statement the trust has warned: "Sadly, we can’t open everywhere at once, but we’re working hard to open more places as soon as possible."

Visitors can pre-book tickets for visits from Monday, June 8 until Sunday, June 14, with timed entry so staff can manage people coming in and allow for social distancing.

Knole visitors will also need to pre-book a parking space and are warned that most facilities are still closed, including the toilets.

The trust will be adding new places over the coming weeks. Two just over the border in East Sussex have also reopened today - Bateman's and Bodiam Castle.
