War and Peace Revival 2019 at the Hop Farm near Paddock Wood

Military enthusiasts will be converging on the county today all guns blazing for this year's War and Peace Revival.

Thousands of military vehicles from around the world, living history scenes and vintage fare will be arriving at the Hop Farm Family Park at Beltring near Paddock Wood, for the annual event, which gets its starter's orders today.

The five-day festival of military history as well as vintage life showcases military vehicles, helicopters, weapons and uniforms will delight fans.

Be transported back in time with action-packed battle re-enactments, carefully choreographed to put you on the frontline in a safe way.

You can also check out famous tanks, artillery, armoured vehicles, cars, jeeps, bicycles, steam engines and motorbikes as well as emergency and commercial vehicles used during previous wars.

Living History scenes will show the British living in trenches, GIs in Vietnam, Russians relaxing with an accordion after a hard day in battle and even Germans plotting their next move.

And the skies will also see some action with a Spitfire and Hurricane performing daily flying displays.

Marquees will be brimming with fascinating treasures including militaria, antiquities, vehicle parts, books, memorabilia, clothing and uniforms, while for those looking for some retro glamour there is the Vintage Village, where you can get yourself a vintage hairdo from the 1940s, or learn how to jive with professional dancers.

In the Home Front Area, there will be a 'pop-up' village - the 1943 Trentham Village and RAF Upper Trentham - showing life for those in civvies during the Second World War. It's a chance to relax with a pint and some traditional British grub, plus some activities for all ages.

This year, the Authors' Pavilion will also have a chance to meet leading authors and hear them talk - and get a signed souvenir to take home.

There’ll be cocktails in the Gentlemen’s Marquee, and the chance to have dinner at the Victory Marquee before heading off to the Spitfire Bar with music from across the generations.

On Friday, the worlds of Frank Sinatra and Michael Buble will burst onto the stage with a new show while on Saturday, the Memphis Belle Swing Orchestra will get visitors in the mood with sounds from a bygone age.
