A winter lights festival that has attracted thousands of visitors in the past is set to return for a third year.
The Gravesham Light Festival is a free event that boasts colourful displays, installations and projections that aim to light up the “dark days of winter”.
The annual festival will see pop-up exhibitions, live music and artistic displays at locations such as St George’s Art Centre, Gravesham Borough Market and St Andrew’s Quayside.
Last year, the theme was the Voyage of Light and the installations included a large illuminated hourglass and a series of Silk River Flags.
This January, the artwork will centre around the theme of Reflections.
Alongside the displays, there will also be workshops, street entertainers and musical performances taking place all over the town.
Lauren Sullivan of Gravesham Borough Council said: "The Gravesham Light Festival is a lovely event that brings us all together in the dark days of January. When the Christmas lights have come down we are delighted that this annual festival of illumination, radiance, and dazzling installations has become established in the Gravesham calendar!”
“We're thrilled to usher in the New Year with an explosion of creativity, fun, and excitement through the Reflections' festival,” adds Gravesham Borough Council’s Mandy Hare. “This event is designed to enchant visitors and give everyone the opportunity to experience something magical and unforgettable.”
The 2024 event will take place on Friday, January 26 and Saturday, January 27.
