Hever Castle is open for winter walks through to the New Year
00:01, 28 December 2016
Get away from the hustle and bustle of Christmas and take a winter walk in some regal surroundings.
Historic Hever Castle & Gardens is open daily from now until Bank Holiday Monday, January 2 for those looking to recharge their batteries.
Visitors pay for garden only entry and get castle entry free. Take a stroll in the gardens where the warm red bark of the Redwood trees glows against the winter sky.
The Winter Garden is in full bloom this time of year with fiery reds, oranges and yellows of brightly coloured Dogwood stems brightening your way.
For those feeling energetic, don your wellies and take a brisk walk around the lake, looking out for wildlife and waterfowl.
In the castle, welcoming log fires will warm cold fingers and toes as you get a last look at this year’s Christmas decorations and place a wish on the Wishing Tree. Collect a tag from the Information Centre and make a donation to the Make A Wish Foundation.
