Emergency crews including the air ambulance rushed to Whitstable this afternoon, after a pensioner fell down some stairs.
Two ambulances arrived in Cromwell Road near Westgate Terrace at about 1pm and the helicopter landed in Gorrell Tank car park shortly after.
It is believed the 70-year-old woman fell down steps near the harbour, suffering a head injury.
Medics spent about two hours assessing and treating her, before she was airlifted to hospital.
Dozens of people gathered to look at the helicopter, which left the scene at about 3pm.
There were also reports that the RAF Sea King helicopter had been spotted hovering off the Whitstable coast, but it is believed to have been carrying out a training exercise with the RNLI.
