Man shot in Whitstable taken to hospital as armed police respond

Armed police have been scrambled after a man was shot in the leg with a ball-bearing gun.
Police were called at just before 2pm to reports a man had been injured in Cromwell Road, Whitstable.
Paramedics also rushed to the scene, with an air ambulance landing in nearby Westmeads Recreation Ground.
The man has now been taken to a local hospital for treatment after reportedly being shot in the leg with a BB gun.
His age has not yet been confirmed.
Local patrols and armed officers attended and are currently making enquiries in the area.
No arrests have yet been made, but the people involved are understood to be known to each other.
