Biker taken to hospital after crash on Old Thanet Way near Whitstable

A biker was taken to hospital after a crash on the Old Thanet Way.

Emergency services were called to the scene near the Chestfield roundabout, Whitstable, after a car and a motorbike collided.

The road was reportedly blocked following the incident shortly before 8pm on Friday.

A police spokesman said: "A car and a motorbike were involved in a collision on the A2990 Thanet Way, near the Chestfield roundabout, at about 7.45pm on Friday.

"An off-duty police officer was in the area soon after the incident and assisted at the scene before on-duty officers and an ambulance arrived.

"The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening."

Meanwhile, the ambulance service also confirmed paramedics were called to the scene.

"An ambulance crew attended the scene and the motorcyclist was assessed and treated before being taken to William Harvey Hospital in Ashford," they said.
