An angry resident vented his frustration following the incidents in the early hours of Sunday.

"Individuals left blood at the scene of a side mirror that was snapped off," he said on social media.

"It's a shame that said individuals see the need to attack personal property of people that work hard and are up-standing members of the community.

"For the victim, it’s an expense and an inconvenience.

"The crime creates both anger and pity towards the perpetrators.

"What an empty life they must have and a life that leads to more misery."

It is understood the probe relates to three vehicles but that could increase as other victims come forward.

A police spokesman said: "We are investigating the reported criminal damage of a number of vehicles in Hillview Road and Harwich Street, Whitstable, shortly before 1am on Sunday.

"Inquiries are ongoing."
