A driver was grabbed by the throat by an angry thug who smashed his car windscreen at a McDonald’s drive-thru.

Victim Charlie Osborne, aged in his 20s, says the attacker launched the unprovoked assault outside the restaurant on the Thanet Way at Chestfield at about 4pm on Sunday, while being “egged on” by a friend.

Mr Osborne posted on Facebook: “They was expecting to cross and both got angry when I didn’t give way to them.”

The pair then began swearing and making obscene hand gestures. But the young man, from London, said he did not react.

One of the men then launched the “random attack”.

“He ran over and punched my windscreen, shattering it and leaving damage,” he said. “He then grabbed me by the throat and assaulted me.”
