Lifeboat crew and ambulance called to Whitstable beach after swimmer encounters problems

A lifeboat crew was scrambled following calls a woman had run into trouble swimming off the Whitstable coast.
People on the seafront called 999 after spotting the 30 year-old swimming in her bikini and unable to get out of the water.
Herne Bay Coastguard Rescue team and Kent Ambulance attended at around 2.30pm on Saturday where the victim was thought to be suffering mild hypothermia.
She was pulled to safety and treated at the scene but did not need to go to hospital.
