A couple have created an impressive tribute to mark the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings.

David and Audrey Lee have transformed their front garden in Ellison Close, Chestfield, near Whitstable, with a display in commemoration of those who took part in the momentous seaborne invasion on June 6, 1944.

The couple say they are "passionate about the debt we owe to those who fought, and gained our freedom as we know it today".

Their display features vehicles, weapons and equipment from the Second World War period - including an Austin Tilly and a Willys Jeep - which the couple owns and takes to shows and events.

Also displayed is a replica field gun, and a picture and model of a B17 heavy bomber.

It comes after huge crowds gathered in Kent to see a flypast of Dakotas taking part in the D-Day 75th anniversary celebrations yesterday.

It cause traffic chaos on some of the county's roads and led to an ambulance getting stuck as it struggled to navigate its way passed poorly parked cars.
