Cyclist dies in Borstal Hill in Whitstable

A cyclist has tragically died after he left the road while riding in Whitstable this morning.
Borstal Hill was closed off following the incident near the junction with Joy Lane shortly before 7am.
Police, paramedics and the fire service arrived at the scene, where a local 50-year-old man was tragically pronounced dead.
The man, who was riding a green and black bike, had been one of three cyclists cycling down Borstall Hill when he left the road near the junction with Joy Lane.
At least three police cars, three ambulances and a fire service vehicle were at the scene.
The road was shut in both directions, with motorists being diverted by officers.
Officers from the serious collision investigation unit are appealing to anyone who witnessed what happened, or who has dashcam footage which may assist.
