Drink-driving arrest at McDonald's car park in Chestfield near Whitstable

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving in a McDonald's car park.

Police arrived at the Chestfield branch of the popular fast-food restaurant, off the Old Thanet Way near Whitstable, after passing officers spotted a commotion unfolding.

The incident happened shortly after 2am yesterday.

A spokesman for McDonald’s said: "We are aware of an incident that took place outside our Chestfield restaurant early on Sunday morning.

"We will be working with police to support any investigation."

Meanwhile, a spokesman for the force said police were called to a report of a disturbance at the restaurant at 2.10am.

"A 56-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and has since been released under investigation," they said.
