After the attack on Thursday, Belinda posted an appeal on Facebook asking for witnesses.

She said: “Did anyone see a bald white man attack my son at the Chestfield pedestrian crossing near the KFC at 2.15 pm today?

“My son was in his car at the crossing going towards KFC, when the light went red he stopped as you would.

“Next thing the bald man opened his car door, punched him in the face and tried to drag him out of his car.

“Then a car came up behind my son's and he seemed to be getting out of his car so the bald man ran away heading towards the Chestfield housing estate.”

Police spokesman Amanda Wills said: “The offender is described as white, bald and aged between 30 and 50. He made off on foot across the road towards Sainsbury’s.
