Four suspects have been arrested following a town centre attack that saw a man and a woman rushed to hospital.
The victims, who are in their 20s, were involved in a verbal exchange with a woman in Whitstable High Street just after midnight on Saturday.
The pair continued walking along the route, before a vehicle, thought to be a black Land Rover Freelander, pulled over and four men got out moments later.
They were attacked by the gang, with the man sustaining serious face injuries during the ordeal.
A police spokesman said: "Both were taken to hospital by the ambulance service and have since been discharged.
"Yesterday, three men and a woman, aged between 24 and 32, were arrested as part of the investigation and taken into custody."
Despite this, detectives are continuing to appeal for witnesses to come forward.
Anyone with information is being urged to call officers on 01843 222289, quoting the reference number 46/91370/22, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
