More flood warnings have been issued for coastal towns across Kent.

Alerts are active across the Isle of Sheppey and from Kemsley to Seasalter, with flooding expected to affect low lying land and areas nearest the coast, which follows yesterday's warnings.

The highest tide level is forecast for 3pm today.

Flooding is possible two hours either side of this time from 1pm to 5pm.

People are being told to be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads.

The Environment Agency is monitoring the situation.

Incident response staff are operating their structure procedures and have staff in areas of concern.

The Met Office earlier issued a yellow weather warning for rain with treacherous conditions from 6am today.

It is warning up to 50mm of rain could fall in some areas within the space of a couple of hours.
