A huge slow worm has appeared in a garden, momentarily terrifying a mum.
Katy Rossi was in the garden of her Whitstable home when it reared its head.
The mother-of-two said: "I was in the garden and I was setting up my little boy's swimming pool.
"I saw it come from under our shed and I just thought 'What the hell is that?!'
"At first I thought it was a snake."
The slippery creature slithered under the 22-year-old's bin before disappearing.
She said: "I hope it does come back, it was quite amazing to see.
Slow worms are actually legless lizards - giving them traits including a tail they can shed and eyelids that can blink.
They are often found sunbathing, or rooting around in compost heaps and allotments.
