The Northwood Road home was targeted between 7pm on Tuesday, August 1 and 7.50am on Thursday, August 3.

Detective sergeant Clive Horne said: “We are currently investigating whether the two incidents may be linked.

“Anyone who may have seen something in the area at the time, which could help our investigation, is urged to call us.

“Both burglaries took place while the residents were out and we would remind people to consider checking their own security measures at home.

“Always ensure all windows, doors, gates and garages are locked if you are leaving the property for any period of time. Photograph any valuables or make a note of any serial numbers they may have and keep the receipts separate and safely stored away.

“Also consider further measures, such as alarms or CCTV, as these work as deterrents to would-be burglars who are looking for an easy steal.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 01843 222289, quoting ZY/35814/17.
