Lorry overturns on A299 Thanet Way between Dargate and Yorkletts causing road closure

Traffic was severely disrupted on a major coastal route after a lorry left the carriageway and overturned.
Kent police set up a road block on the A299 Thanet Way dual carriageway between Dargate and Yorkletts after the heavy goods vehicle lost control at around 8am on Saturday morning.
Ambulance crews also attended but there were no reported injuries.
A Kent Police spokesman said: “The incident occurred on the coast bound carriageway close to the turn off for Whitstable.
“It is reported that the lorry left the road and ended up overturned onto its side. No other vehicles were involved.”
The road had reopened by 10am.
