Two arrested after power tools stolen from B&Q in Chestfield, near Whitstable

Two people have been arrested after power tools worth about £1,500 were reportedly stolen from a DIY store.

Police were called to reports of intruders at B&Q in Reeves Way in Chestfield, near Whitstable, shortly after 2.50am this morning.

Officers attended and arrested a 26-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman on suspicion of burglary. They remain in police custody.

Among the power tools that were reported stolen were a Ryobi chargeable battery and multi-sander, a Dewalt drill bit set, a Makita combi drill and impact driver, an Evolution mitre saw and a Stanley jigsaw, multi-tool and saw.

Sergeant Lucy Clark said: "We are appealing for anyone who saw any suspicious people or vehicles in the area to contact us.

"We would also like to hear from anyone offered these power tools for sale."
