Whitstable man charged after attempted robbery at Seasalter Post Office in Joy Lane

A Whitstable man has been charged after an attempted robbery at a post office.
Callum Stewart, of Lucerne Drive, was arrested and charged with attempting to rob cash and tobacco from Seasalter Post Office in Joy Lane on Tuesday.
The 29-year-old was also charged with possession of a knife in a public place.
Mr Stewart appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court via virtual link the next day where he was remanded in custody.
The case will next be heard on May 7 at Canterbury Crown Court.
