Man in hospital following Whitstable assault

A man was taken to hospital with serious face injuries and a woman was also assaulted following an altercation in Whitstable.
An investigation has now been launched by police following the alleged attack this morning.
Police say the incident took place just after midnight in the High Street.
A man and a woman in their 20s were involved in a verbal exchange with an unknown woman before continuing to walk along the road.
A few moments later, a vehicle, thought to be a black Land Rover Freelander, stopped and four men got out.
It is at this point that the man and woman were assaulted, police say.
The woman sustained minor injuries and the man was taken to hospital with serious injuries to his face.
Officers are carrying out enquiries in the area and reviewing all CCTV available.
They are also urging witnesses to come forward.
