Two men charged after assault at property in The Warren, Whitstable

Two people have been charged after a balaclava-clad trio assaulted a man before stealing cash.
The crime happened on February 12, at around 7:45pm, at a property in The Warren in Whitstable.
It sparked a police investigation with an appeal being launched in a bid to find the suspects, who were said to have been wearing balaclavas with holes around the eyes and mouth.
Once inside the house, they assaulted a man with a weapon and stole a large quantity of cash. After leaving the house they are thought to have fled in a black BMW.
Thomas Sharland, 31, of Queen Street, Herne Bay and Joseph Devoy, 28, of Station Chine, Herne Bay, were charged with robbery yesterday. They were remanded to appear before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court today.
The investigation is ongoing and detectives continue to appeal for anyone with information to come forward.
