Morrisons has announced that it will open in Whitstable on Wednesday, October 22.
The brand new convenience store, Morrisons M Local, will bring 20 new jobs to the area when it opens its doors in the High Street.
The supermarket says it believes it has spotted a "gap in the market" for a convenience store that will offer more fresh food, instead of tins and toiletries.
Store Manager Leanne Smith said: “We are proud to be opening an M local in Whitstable and creating 20 new jobs for local people.
“Fresh food will be at the heart of our store and as a team we will work hard to be a positive addition to the local community."
Morrisons announced in January that they were planning to open the store in Whitstable.
It replaces the Cain's Amusement arcade.
The new store will also feature a Food to Go section with fresh coffee, bacon sandwiches, pastries and a salad bar.
The store will open 7am to 9pm every day.
Morrisons M Local shops are smaller branches similar to Tesco Express and Sainsbury's Local convenience stores.
As many as 70 branches opened across the country last year - a number that was boosted by Morrisons' purchase of Jessops, Blockbuster and HMV stores from administrators.
