A mum is warning parents to stay vigilant after her son was approached by a group of men in a car in Whitstable.
Police were called at about 5.30pm last night, to a report of a "suspicious incident" in the Wraik Hill area.
The boy's mum took to Facebook to alert other parents.
She wrote: "My son was invited into a car of six males tonight whilst walking home.
"He was walking along Fox’s Cross just by the Wraik Hill turning.
"The male who spoke to him had an Eastern European accent. My son ran off in the opposite direction.
"They were driving a silver car - possibly a people carrier."
Police are investigating the incident.
A spokesman said: "It was reported that a 13-year-old boy was walking along the road when a car stopped and the driver asked him if he needed a lift home.
"The boy then left the area unharmed.
"No offences were reported but officers are carrying out enquiries into the circumstances behind the incident."
