Person hit by train at Whitstable

A man has died after being hit by a train at Whitstable.
Emergency services rushed to line close to Joy Lane at 10pm last night, but the man couldn't be saved.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
Rail services were left at a standstill following the incident last night, resuming just after midnight.
Rail operator Southeastern said all lines between Faversham and Margate were blocked with replacement buses laid on. The line re-opened just after midnight.
A BTP spokesman added: "Officers from BTP and Kent Police attended the incident, which was reported to BTP at 9.20pm and is currently being treated as non-suspicious.
"Medics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service also attended but a male was pronounced deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been informed."
A file is being prepared for the coroner.
