Officers say they were called at 9.45am on June 10, following a report a dog had bitten a man in Russell Drive.

The victim, Dave Flahaut, previously told KentOnline how he had run outside that morning to find his family's cat being mauled to death by a dog in his driveway.

Recalling the traumatic incident, he told how he had been injured as he tried to wrench his beloved moggie from the dog's jaws.

But the little tortoiseshell tragically died in the attack.

Mr Flahaut said the dog in question was being walked on a leash by a woman.
