Whitstable Regatta: Kent Police investigate Tankerton assault

Police are investigating an alleged assault after a man was knocked unconscious at the Whitstable Regatta.
The victim, who was in his 20s, suffered injuries to his face during the incident, which happened on Marine Parade between 9pm and 9.36pm on Saturday.
Ambulance service spokesman Gerda Murdoch confirmed an ambulance had been called to reports of an unconscious man on the seafront.
She said: “One ambulance attended and treated a man who had suffered injuries to his face.
“He was taken to William Harvey Hospital in Ashford for further treatment.”
Police spokesman Martin Very said officers were investigating the assault.
“It is reported the victim suffered a cut to his lip and he was taken to hospital for treatment,” he added.
