A police officer has been taken to hospital with a head injury after he was allegedly attacked by a man in Whitstable this morning.

Officers were making inquiries at an address in Kemp Road just before 8.30am when the man reportedly became violent and assaulted the officer.

He was tasered and taken to hospital after being arrested.

Police spokesman Jon Green said officers are currently carrying out further inquiries in the area.
